    Mid-term Review of i-Herbal Garden 百草園之旅的中期檢閱 The school visit activity of “i-Herbal Garden” has reached the third lesson. After on-site inspection by gardener, it was found that the growth conditions of herbal plants vary greatly in different school gardens. For example, some perilla trees are vigorously growing, while others are almost withered, so they are in a hurry for emergency treatment; In case of pest infestation, further pest control is required. Regardless of the difference between school gardens, the activity has been obvious to all students to gain knowledge of herbal medicine. In the 1st phase of the questionnaire survey, 89% of the students surveyed agreed that the “i-Herbal Garden” can help them understand the culture of Chinese Medicine. 88% of the students hope we can hold more related activities on campus in the future to provide more knowledge for the understanding of traditional Chinese Medicine culture. This is indeed an encouraging result! The students were chatting happily with the gardener and Chinese Medicine Practitioner around the plants. They analyzed the reasons of the plants in crisis and guided students to take emergency actions. It is a valuable lesson. The students will have to prepare the interim report later. Then, the program will be enter the next stage, everyone will witness how the gardens will blossom! Spring is approaching. In this warm and humid season, students must take every step to prevent bacteria and pests from harming plants and avoid falling short! 不經不覺,「網絡時空百草園」校訪活動已進行到第三節課。經過園藝師現場視察,發現草藥植物的生長狀況,在不同校舍園圃出現很大落差,例如紫蘇,有的蓬勃生長,有的卻近乎枯乾,趕著急救;又例如桑樹,部分健康生長,有些卻遇蟲害,要進一步除蟲照料。 不過,姑勿論百草枯榮有別,但活動對同學們在草本植物藥知識上的得著,明顯有目共睹。首階段問卷調查中,89%受訪同學同意「網絡時空百草園」有助了解中醫藥文化及中草藥種植,88%受訪同學希望我們往後能到校園舉辦更多相關活動,提供更多知識,加深了解中醫藥文化。這著實是個叫人鼓舞的結果! 看園藝師、醫師跟同學圍著欣欣向榮的植物,大家談得興高采烈;又或對著陷入危機的花草,剖析原因,指導同學採取救急行動;同樣都是寶貴的一課。之後,同學開始著手準備中期報告,繼而進入下一階段,讓大家共同見證如何開花結果! 春天快要來臨,在這和暖潮濕的季節,同學們更要步步為營,防止細菌及害蟲對植物的傷害,避免功虧一簣! #網絡時空百草園 #iHerbalGarden #校訪活動 #SchoolVisit #香港 #HongKong iHerbal Garden News Back | Next

    Learning Journey of Brainstorming, Hands-on and Turning Soil 動腦、動手、動土的學習之旅 In the beginning of November, our three divisions joined forces. Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Chinese pharmacist and gardener joined us to visit the schools participating in the “iHerbal Garden (2021/2022)” project. In the first two lessons, not only the culture, knowledge, planting techniques and visual design of Chinese medicine are introduced. And the students can also experience the fun of turning soil and planting. Chinese Medicine Practitioner vividly explained the interaction between balance and health, guiding students to understand the concept of “Medicine and food homology”; Pharmacist brought the original medicinal materials such as antlers and geckos, led students to discover the uniqueness of Chinese medicinal materials. The gardener, together with the fully equipped classmates, planted 15 kinds of Chinese herbal plants, including Perilla, Mugwort, Mulberry, and Murraya to build a “Beauty” garden. The class has just started. Students are looking forward to each planting day and learning opportunity in the future.     Little Huatuo Visits the Campus 小小華佗問診至校園 The exam season is over, the students are ready for the summer vacation. We proceed closely the Become Master Herbalist Junior school visit on these relaxing days. We designed the activity with thoughtful mind from the experience in Picture Book Project. More suitable for all levels of school children. The Practitioners not just provided TCM health information also interacted with the host and students. We can’t miss the introduction of the Shennong and Huatuo since they were Master Herbalist. Students also can experience the life of legends. The bronze man of acupuncture was introduced together with a specially film, toy truck game on the loop track. It explained the human body meridians vividly. The Practitioners also invited a weak puppet as patient, explained the treatments on spot. Sand scraping, cupping, acupuncture and massage jumped out of pictures and words immediately. And the students made all kind of childlike guesses on the unknown bottles of plant, animal and mineral medicine. Finally, the students absorbed the tips of healthy life while interacting and having fun. We felt the students’ enthusiasm through their thoughts and feedback. The content of the activity is new to elementary school students. The lecturer fully use the resources, pictures, VR exhibitions, Chinese medicine, etc. to explain Chinese Medicine Culture.     Virtual Tour with Master Herbalist Junior (Closed) 小小華佗線上遊 (已完結) Become Master Herbalist Junior HASH Creative Chinese Medicine Culture Amusement Space was perfectly finished almost three months. We selected some interesting activities to schools. Those who have missed the exhibition can learn about Chinese medicine culture in the interaction of school visits. But the time of school visits is limited. And we adhere to the aim of happy learning. Therefor, we turned Become Master Herbalist Junior into a Virtual Tour. Here’s the chance for those who haven’t been to there or who want to revisit. You will see the Big Gourd, glass Baizigui, Rainie dad bronze figure and various Chinese medicine treatment tools, etc. with introductions and interesting stories. Since time and place are no longer an obstacles, happiness is of course unlimited.     We are on the Right Track! 證明我們走對了! The Chinese Culture is broad and profound. In it, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture contains a unique view on Life, Nature and Health. And we try to start from the needs students and teachers, create a series of interactive learning models suitable for them. In 8 months of schools visiting tour, we received support from schools and teachers thought direct exchanges, interaction and contact. We are greatly encouraged to see students being very engaged in and learning. Through the process, we have obtained some important proofs. It proves that schools always need a wide range of children’s learning resources. It proves that explaining the profound things in a simple way and entering the childlike world is an effective way. And most importantly, it proves that we are on the right track. We believe “The way to solve problems is based on the attitude of looking at problems.” Since we have a lot of optimism and positivity, even the road is difficult and we will face it. 中華文化博大精深是不爭的事實,當中的中醫藥文化包含着獨特的生命觀、自然觀和健康觀。為了讓學童、老師進一步了解,我們嘗試由他們所需出發,製作一連串合適他們的一套互動學習模式。 經過8個月的時間,走訪不同學校,與師生直接交流、互動、接觸後,得到學校、老師支持之餘,看見學生非常投入地吸收學習,令我們感受到極大的鼓舞。 當中,我們切切實實地獲得了幾個重要的證明。證明學校需要多方面的兒童學習資源,而且是超乎想像的需要。證明深入淺出,投入童趣世界是教育學童中華文化智慧的有效法門。而更重要的,是證明我們走對了。 我們深信「解決問題的方法,建基於看問題的態度」,加上我們還有大量備用的樂觀與積極,哪怕路再難,迎難而上。 #中醫藥文化兒童教育繪本圖書計劃 #PictureBooksOnChineseMedicineCulture #校訪活動 #SchoolVisit #香港 #HongKong Picture Books News Back

Our aims for every opportunity to contact, share, interact and communicate with children during each school visits. We can see the enjoyment on children’s faces is worthy of our record. On the road to promote Chinese Culture, it's precious to meet like-minded friends. One of the online cultural learning and playing platforms - “Perspective Cultural Resources” platform, is similar to the concept of Ours. Perspective Cultural Resources expects children can learn and grow together with knowledge in the cultural field. They have selected our theme of Chinese Medicine Culture to start-up, and will gradually extend to other cultural areas in the future. Our cooperation would strengthen the work and promotion on children's education.     “Become Master Herbalist Junior” has begun! Come and Play! 「小小華佗的誕生」已經開展啦!快來玩吧! Become Master Herbalist Junior – HASH Creative Chinese Medicine Culture Amusement Space at 7 Mallory Street, Wan Chai, has been launched for a week. The amusement space is not only for children, but many adults and elderly people expressed their interest and enjoyment. The workshops were held on the weekend. The production process of Medicinal Incense was simple and fun. Children were satisfied with their favorite choice and took the finished product home. On Sunday, children and parents worked together to create a unique pattern for the gourd. In the afternoon, Chinese medicine practitioners from CMA gave two health lectures about daily living habits and diet. In the following weekend and Sunday (March 6th and 7th), in addition to the Medicinal Incense workshop, there will also be a storyteller who will show you the story of a picture book of Chinese medicine culture. And two health lectures from Chinese medicine practitioners. Those who are interested can use the following link to sign up, seats are limited!     To Know Chinese Medicine Culture Through Fun and Play! 認識中醫藥文化面貌,從快樂學習、遊戲教育開始! Become Master Herbalist Junior is our second project funded by Chinese Medicine Development Fund. It comprises exhibitions, workshops, story-telling sessions and seminars on Chinese medicine culture. The project will be held at 7 Mallory Street, Wanchai, from 24 February to 17 March. Come join us. Guided tours will be held from Tuesdays to Saturdays during the period.
